Your Life, Your Way

“Your Life, Your Way – Become Aware of Social Pressures Limiting Women” is the ideal companion for women of all ages and backgrounds who want to explore their personal power and fully express their identity. Dr. Alicia Lamberghini-West (Psy.D.) draws on her rich, multicultural personal and professional experience to present a comprehensive resource of the social pressures and expectations placed on women, the consequences women face if they do not conform to these expectations, and reflections on how women can regain personal balance and choose life on their terms.

This book sheds light on the primary sources of social pressures: patriarchal ideology, sexism, and socialized tradition, offering women a framework for identifying challenges without self-blame. The first step to change is naming and understanding the issue. Your Life, Your Way presents three different lenses—social pressures, social contexts, and power intersections—that women can use to locate their personal context and related challenges and opportunities.
